Highly in demand, Widad University College (WUC) through the Faculty of Nursing (FON) had decided to run the Diploma in Nursing in July 2007, collaborating with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), with intakes from 47 students up to 400 over students in a year. Due to the increasing demand, the University College then decided to conduct the Programme on its own starting from July 2008 until today. Local market surveys have indicated a significant demand for the programme as it offers pathways to job market locally and internationally.

The curriculum, examination policy as well as other key policies and regulations related to quality assurance for the programme were originally developed and formulated by Shahputra College Programme Development Committee.

Once you have finished your Diploma in Nursing, your career path would be a staff nurse U29 for both male or female. If you have gone through years of experience, you could opt to work as a sister or matron. However, you could go further and continue your studies from the Diploma in Nursing Malaysia to a Degree in Nursing.

The demand for nursing remains high, and projections suggest that such demand will substantively increase. However, the number of student intake may fluctuate for certain reasons. Genuinely Nursing is a genuinely basic, noble and independent functioning career throughout the world.
