Bachelor of Islamic Finance (Honours)

The Bachelor of Islamic Finance (Honours) aims to produce students who are competent and possess good knowledge in Islamic finance.

Islamic finance jobs are demanding in the market. According to Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), the trend of globalization of Islamic finance industry has encouraged the foreign financial institutions make Malaysia as a preferred destination to do the Islamic finance transaction. By seeing the challenges that have resulted from liberalization and globalization process, it is important to recognize the Islamic finance industry as the financial intermediary and primary source of financing for the domestic economy.

Under this program, students will be exposed to a wide range of courses that are available under Islamic finance fields. That includes the study of banking management, basic finance, fundamental of Islamic financial management, accounting, economics, marketing, management, business mathematics and statistics, communication, information technology and legal regulations.

Students who graduate from this bachelor’s degree programme can pursue their studies in Islamic finance in any public and private institutions locally, or abroad.

The Bachelor of Islamic Finance (Honours) is accredited by Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) and Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM).

The graduates will be awarded with Intermediate Qualification of Islamic Finance (IQIF) by IBFIM once completed the studies.

Entry Requirements

Option 1: Entry with Matriculation / Foundation

  • A recognised Certificate in Matriculation or Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.0.
  • Pass in Mathematics at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or its equivalent.

Option 2: Entry with Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM)

  • Pass the STPM with a minimum of Grade C (GPA 2.00) in any two (2) subjects.
  • Pass in Mathematics at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or its equivalent.

Option 3: Entry with Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM)

  • Pass the STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid.
  • Pass in Mathematics at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or its equivalent.

Option 4: Entry with Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in MIF or related fields

  • A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in MIF or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 or equivalent.
  • Pass in Mathematics at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or its equivalent.

Note : Candidates with CGPA below 2.5 but above 2.0 may be admitted subject to an internal assessment process.

Option 5: Entry with other Diploma (Level 4, MQF)

  • Any other Diploma (Level 4, MQF) with a minimum CGPA of 2.5.
  • Pass in Mathematics at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or its equivalent.

Option 6: Entry with Other Relevant Equivalent Qualifications

  • Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by Malaysian Government.
  • Pass in Mathematics at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or its equivalent.
