Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Honours)

The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Honours) was introduced in 2018 and achieved full accreditation in 2021.

Diploma students are eligible for credit exemptions or credit transfers for selected subjects.

This programme includes essential elements such as pedagogy skills, child development, curriculum content, educational psychology, teaching and learning theories, assessment of children’s learning, safety and nutrition aspects, as well as the spiritual and moral development of children.

Entry Requirements

Option 1: Entry with Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM)

Pass the STPM with minimum grade C (NGMP 2.00) in any Two (2) subjects or its equivalent.

Option 2: Entry with Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM)

    Pass the STAM with a minimum Jayyid level.

Option 3: Entry with Matriculation / Foundation / Equivalent qualification

Pass the Matriculation / Foundation / equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00.

Option 4: Entry with Diploma in Early Childhood

Pass the Diploma in Early Childhood Education (Level 4 KKM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.00.

Option 5: Entry with Diploma

Pass the Diploma (Level 4 KKM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 in any field or its equivalent.

Option 6: Entry with Malaysia Skills Diploma (DKM) / Advanced Diploma Skills Malaysia (DLKM) / Malaysia Vocational Diploma (DVM)

Pass the DKM / DLKM / DVM with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, subject to the approval of the relevant Senate / Academic Board.

Option 7: Entry with Malaysia Skills Diploma (DKM) / Malaysia Vocational Diploma (DVM)

Pass the DKM / DVM with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 AND have at least two (2) years of work experience in a related field.

Option 8: Entry with Other Equivalent qualification

Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.

Additional Requirements (Malaysian Students)

Achieve a minimum Band 3 in MUET.

Additional Requirements (International Students)

  • Obtain a minimum score of 500 for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); or
  • Obtain a score of 5.0 for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or its equivalent.

The above conditions are exempted for:

  • Students originating from countries that use English as a primary language; or
  • Students who use academic qualifications from institutions that use English as the medium of instruction.
