History Background

Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Widad University College was established in 2008 [formerly known as Shahputra University College]. The faculty is headed by a deputy dean and assisted by eleven lecturers. Most of lecturers are those who have the qualifications and experience from institutions of higher learning and had also worked in the government sectors.

This faculty has 3 programmes:

  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology
  • Diploma in Pharmacy
  • Diploma in Medical Assistant

All of these programmes have been fully accredited by Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA). In addition, the syllabus is constantly monitored by the university's Quality Control Committee while the Malaysian Medical Assistant Board (MMAB) a professional body, monitors the Diploma in Medical Assistant.

The faculty is developing two new programmes namely the Diploma in Occupational and Health Safety and Diploma in Homeopathy Medicine. The faculty has also planned to develop several other programmes of study in the future for bachelor and master degrees or higher.
