The programme provides students with a portfolio of the all essential skills of media production in fulfilling the industrial needs, as well as key transferable skills including communication and information technology.

This programme has a strong occupational orientation too as media industry is very vivid and one of the most versatile industries. The programme provides an approach to the study of media, combining theoretical study with the development of practical media and communications skills. Students are taught to think critically about their chosen industry, and are provided with an understanding of the role of the media in society. They also gain media writing skills, audio video production, television commercial, radio broadcasting and print production, using the latest studio and production equipment. With its multidisciplinary perspectives, the programme is well-suited to the challenge of analyzing the social, cultural, economic and political forces at play in the convergence of media institutions.

Entry Requirements

  • Option 1: Entry with Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia / Vokasional (SPM / SPMV)

  • Passed SPM / SPMV with 3 credits inclusive of:
    • Bahasa Melayu
    • English
    • Any other 1 subject
  • Obtained a pass in Mathematics
  • Obtained a pass in History
  • Pass oral and writting interview conducted by the faculty
  • Option 2: Entry with any Equivalent Qualification

  • Any equivalent qualification recognized by the Malaysian Government
  • Pass oral and writting interview conducted by the faculty
