Diploma in Pharmacy

Diploma in Pharmacy prepare students to become Pharmacy Assistant who are knowledgeable in the field of pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacy practice. Therefore, graduates are ready to enter the job market in the pharmaceutical industry which emphasizes the application of pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical chemistry or enters the job market which focus on pharmacy practice such as hospital and community pharmacy as well as private clinics.

Graduates of Diploma Pharmacy will be able to gain employment as a Pharmacy Assistant in government and private hospitals. Other than that, the graduates will also have the opportunity to work in private health clinics, pharmaceutical industries and manufacturing sectors. After graduation, students may also continue their studies to obtain a professional degree in pharmacy and later register as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia.

The three-year learning duration is equivalent to six semesters. Students are required to complete four (4) semesters for theory and laboratory practical, and two (2) semesters for clinical attachments. The Diploma Pharmacy Programme received its full MQA accreditation since 2011 and is under supervision of the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia.

Entry Requirements

  • Entry with Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia / Vokasional (SPM / SPMV)

  • Passed SPM / SPMV with 3 credits inclusive of:
    • Bahasa Melayu
    • Physics OR Chemistry OR Biology OR Science
    • Any other 1 subject
  • Obtained a pass in English
  • Obtained a pass in Mathematics
