Foundation in Science

Foundation in Science is designed to prepare students who wish to pursue their career in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy or other related degree courses. The country's economic growth has given a large impact on the health system in Malaysia especially the demand for a quality health services. Thus, this programme is offered in line with the government's policy to increase the quality of services in the biological and health science sector by combining the knowledge, technology, and humanity skills. With the emergence of new hospitals in the government and private sectors, the need for trained workers in the field of medical science is critical. Subjects like Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and English taught to the students will prepare them for problem-based learning for their higher education in local universities or abroad.

Entry Requirements

  • Option 1: For student that will further their study into Bachelor programme in Medicine

  • A pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia / Vokasional (SPM / SPMV) / O-Level
  • Five (5) credits (minimum B) in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics OR Additional Mathematics and any other subject
  • Credit in Bahasa Melayu and English
  • Option 2: For student that will further their study into Bachelor programme in Other Fields in Science

  • A pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia / Vokasional (SPM / SPMV) / O-Level
  • Five (5) credits including Mathematics and two (2) science subjects
  • Pass in Bahasa Melayu and English
  • Option 3: For student that will further their study into Bachelor programme in Allied Health Sciences

  • A pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia / Vokasional (SPM / SPMV) / O-Level
  • Five (5) credits including three (3) from the following subjects: Biology / Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / English
  • Pass in Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with Grade B in three (3) subjects

Career Pathway

Students who have successfully completed the course can find employment in the private and public sectors as:

  • Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery
  • Bachelor of Dentistry
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy
  • Bachelor in Science and any related science courses
  • Bachelor in Engineering
  • Bachelor in Allied Health Science

Graduates are able to pursue studies at any potential universities.
